Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the Community Mobilizer role will be to work closely with the Project Manager, Project Officer and Field Officers to support administration and delivery efforts towards achievement of the intended results of WWs Korean funded cash for food intervention in Herat, in line with the project workplan, proposal, donor standards and WW policies, procedures and quality standards. WW is looking specifically for people with great understanding of current situation and dynamics in the following districts of Herat ….
Responsibilities
- Implementation of WW programme activities at district level (Herat)
- Daily visits to project site, close collaboration and technical support to Project Manager to ensure high-quality programme implementation
- Continuous supervision and monitoring of project implementation and its evaluation, reporting on project progress
- Responsibilities for Motivation and Mobilization Target Communities for high-quality standard programme implementation. Maintain good relationship with Communities and be aware of the sensitivity about the communities’ cultures and tradition.
- Organize and lead participatory workshops and meetings in communities for implementation of Cash for food program and project relevant activities, increase community acceptance and build positive image of WW.
- Establish working and coordination partnership among the local authorities, CDCs and community elders for overcoming the challenges ahead the project.
- Assist Programme Department in Beneficiary selection
- Contribute to timely reporting from the field ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency with the project operating procedures (namely timely data collection) and expected standards, being mindful of WWs Code of Conduct and Data Protection Policies. And ensuring collection of information is gathered in a transparent and respectful manner.
- Assist with organization during cash or in-kind distributions
- Deliver weekly work plan in high-quality standards and provide work progress reports to Project Manager.
- Ensure the effective and efficient use of all WWs resources in order to keep costs low and ensure safety in the workplace.
- Regular collection of information regarding case studies and success stories to highlight positive changes.
- Support in conducting base line midterm review project-end participatory community assessments and evaluation in project coverage area.
- Any other task given by line manager
- Other Duties
- Support the Programme Department, logistics and finance to prepare items for distribution
- Support the Programme Department in timely communication with selected beneficiaries to ensure they are aware of how to and are able to receive their assistance in a safe and timely manner
- On request of WW participate in joint assessments in support of humanitarian project positioning and wider benefit of the vulnerable people in need of support
- Provide real-time information on the field situation including but not limited to security, access, needs, health
- Adhere to and encourage others to comply with safety and security advisory, procedures and protocols always, and raise any safety or security concerns in an appropriate and safe manner, immediately.
- Adhere to all project operating procedures
- Ensure documentation in compliance with internal and rules and regulations are completed and submitted in a timely manner
Job Requirement
- Qualification and Preferred Skills and Competencies
- Completed high school or equivalent education.
- Minimum of two years of experience in community mobilization particularly for community participation conflict resolution and resource mobilization in Afghanistan, ideally Herat
- Applied knowledge of the local community structure, dynamics and development.
- Experience working closely with crisis affected communities– host and IDP
- Demonstrated experience in administering assessments, distributions, and monitoring of activities
- Sound training delivery skills, especially at communities level
- Ability to travel to the program communities in the districts on daily basis.
- Demonstrated patience, enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work both independently and cooperatively with team members.
- Proven knowledge and respect of key humanitarian principles
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems
- Team player and willingness to learn
- Fluency and professional proficiency in Pashto and Dari, English is an asset.
