About WASSA: Women Activities & Social Services Association (WASSA) was established in 2002 in Afghanistan, as non-governmental organization, committed to seeking ways for women’s empowerment in Afghanistan. WASSA aims to promote women equal participation in socio-economic sectors of the country. WASSA directly works with communities in order to bring changes in social attitude of the community for women.
Job Description
- Manages WASSA’s programs to ensure that the initiatives are consistent to the organizational mandate, vision, and mission.
- Conducting research on fundraising opportunities.
- Developing strategic plan on yearly bases.
- Writing funding proposals, budgets and submitting these to potential donors.
- Implementing a variety of marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Organizing and attending non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures effective technical assistance to project implementation team and program staff in general.
- Identifying grant funding opportunities, writing technical and funding proposals.
- Identifying key objectives, tasks, and projects.
- Creating budgets, guidelines, and other related documents for the program.
- Selecting and assigning team members to projects.
- Supervising project managers through reports and meetings.
- Support the organization in moving towards strategic direction.
- Overall Management of the program.
- Developing program planning and facilitating the team to implement.
- Staff induction and orientation of the Program.
- Monitoring of the program in line with the organizational objectives.
- Developing and submitting progress reports.
- Preparing monthly, Quarterly, and annual reports on demand.
- Develop linkages with government departments and NGOs working in the area of Human Rights.
- Collect new ideas for proposal for new intervention.
- Training Need Assessment of the program staff.
- Explore Training opportunities.
- Represent the organization on different levels.
- Manage ongoing fundraising efforts among donors using the company’s established relationships with media outlets, government agencies, and private businesses.
- Direct and implement new fundraising strategies based on digital market research and best practices.
- Oversee creation of all campaign promotional materials to ensure adherence to company policy and mission.
- Organize new public relations programs to bring awareness to campaign needs.
- Manage fundraising budget.
- Any other tasks required or requested by the leadership of the organization.
Job Requirement
- Master/Bachelor’s degree in Management. Master’s degree is Prioritized.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment, and to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong project management skillset, including budget management skills and work planning and monitoring.
- Previous experience in Development, Advocacy, Peacebuilding, Humanitarian Response, Protection, and GBV programming for returnees and IDPs with national and International Organizations
- At least 5-7 years of working within GBV/Peacebuilding, Protection, WASH, and Humanitarian Response in Afghanistan
- Proposal development and be familiar with donor reporting
- Excellent communication (both oral and written) in English and local languages, people skill for conflict resolution and negotiation
- Good skills in using Microsoft office software
- Good presentation skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.
