About Danner Afghanistan for Women Empowerment Organization (DAWEO): DAWEO is a Local Organisations supporting Afghan Women though providing capacity building sessions. DAWEO was initially established as a local office of the Danish NGO Danner, who has worked with VAW survivors for more than 40 years through shelter activities and political policy work in Denmark. DAWEO’s overall mission is to support women and girls who are victims of war and other forms of violence, through providing services, capacity building initiatives, public awareness in psycho-social issues, spreading legal awareness and other services related to gender-based violence issues.

Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of DAWEO, the Project Officer is tasked to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the project and support DAWEO.

The primary functions of the project officer include but are not limited to:

  • Overall management of the project in close coordination with the director.
  • Ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of the project.
  • Support processes and partner involvement in project implementation.
  • Duties and responsibilities:
  • Provide coordination and effective management and direction of the program to achieve the greatest impact possible. In cooperation with the Director, to coordinate implementation of project activities, support to the existing government and non-government related networks and advocacy activities.
  • Support the Director to manage the overall project by planning, implementing, tracking and reporting of the project activities in accordance with project LFA and project agreement.
  • Ensure high-quality project implementation in conformity with donor agreements, stipulated goals and objectives.
  • Ensure that project objectives and targets are achieved within the timeline and as per work plan of the project.
  • Ensure that project resources are used effectively and transparently in order to further the objectives of the project.
  • Cooperate and liaise with provincial manger and superior Women Protection Center (WPC) and (FGC) in Bayman Province.
  • Conduct regular project reporting to donor and board.
  • Liaise with other agencies for project coordination.
  • To be able to accomplish any other specific duty assigned by her/his line manager.

Job Requirement

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in the field of social science, human rights/Gender OR other relevant educational background.
  • 2 years of experience in project management, implementation and monitoring.
  • Understanding of best practices in VAW response and prevention.
  • Experience in advocacy and coordination.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget and financial management.
  • Excellent critical and creative thinking and analytical skills. Transparency and accountability.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Fluency in English and Dari, written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills, including Ms Office (Word&Excel& PowerPoint).
