Job Description
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the provincial senior manger and senior child protection manger will be responsible for leading Save the Children’s activities in the province on Child Protection to make the delivery of Child Rights and Child Protection a reality in Balkh and technical responsible for all child protection projects in Balkh. S/he will be responsible to technically support all SCI and partner child protection staff in the province.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Sr. Provincial manager
Staff reporting to this post: CP officers, casae workers’ supervisor
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :
• Provide technical inputs and lead various assessments, researches and assessments on Child Protection issues.
• Develop work plans and monitor progress and present monthly progress reports (monthly, quarterly & annual) to supervisor. Ensure effective documentation of our program and progress by capturing lessons learnt and good practices.
• Work with the Monitoring and Evaluation focal person to ensure that information related to child protection is stored, analyzed and used by program support unit as well as the implementation team.
• Continue to develop understanding on children’s meaningful participation throughout the program, and develop/implement strategies to enable children to identify and address the issues of concern to them and promote their voices in locally level.
• Conduct coordination meetings with the relevant government authorities for smooth implementation of the project activities.
• Undertake specific trainings in child protection for program implementation team and then ensure that the latter train children, partners and community-based child protection networks/partners.
• Undertake specific trainings in child protection for the beneficiaries specified in the DIP and ensure they are applying in during their work though participation in coordination meetings.
• Review the program related documents, reports and detailed implementation plans to ensure that child protection issues and child rights approaches are integrated.
• Represent the organization in child protection forums at the district and provincial level.
• Represent organization in Protection Cluster and all working groups on protection.
• Work with appropriate stakeholders within the child protection sector to ensure that children’s rights are considered in the process of legislation formation and institution building.
• Report any child safeguarding concerns related to Save the Children Child Safeguarding focal point considering the SCI child protection policy.
• Adhere to the organization code of conduct in professional and personal life and report breaches of the code to the appropriate persons.
• Any other tasks relate to child protection programs given by line manager

Additional job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties from time to time which are reasonable in relation to their level of skills and experience.
In the event of a significant humanitarian emergency, the post-holder will be expected to work outside their normal job description; vary their working hours; and occasionally work from a different location should the need arise.

Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience working on child protection or education Projects
• Good Oral and Written English Skills
• Proven Computer skills in Word, Excel and other MS Office software
• Proven Administration skills
• Ability to travel within project coverage districts & other provinces as needed
Desirable:
• Understanding of local languages and customs
