Job Description
- Summary of Key Functions
- Plan the project facilitation/implementation at the field
- Lead and supervise the project staff at field level.
- Technical, logistical and administrative support for the project implementation
- Give necessary feedback to the management and to the field team for better implementation of the project
- Liaise with local government relevant departments, other CARE projects and other agencies at field level to better coordinate the project implementation
- Key relations
Internal: Provincial Manager, Project Manager, the project staff and other support staff and CARE AFG other projects.
External: Government sectoral related departments, district authorities, provincial authorities and other key organizations working in same targeted communities.
- Key Results Expected
- Plan the project implementation at district and community level with team
- Share criteria of selection of beneficiaries with field team, CDCs, WCs, beneficiary selection committees, MEL and other relevant stakeholders at the field level
- Oversee selection process of beneficiaries for all the project intervention
- Ensure project achievements according to project work plan and make course corrections when needed
- Ensure that staff at field level has weekly/monthly individual work plan and follow up/make adjustments as needed
- Ensure that all stakeholders such as; CDCs, WCs, Government sectoral departments participate in project activities and are satisfied and well-coordinated
- Work closely with project manager on budget planning and use at district levels and ensure to avoid any over/under expenditures
- Plan ahead with team any risks in delays and mitigations of these risks.
- Demonstrate good teamwork and involve others in decision-making and keep them informed of affairs
- Provide all logistical and technical support to the project staffs as and when needed
- Conduct regular monitoring of field staff performance and project implementation in the field and report findings to the Provincial Manager and Project manager
- Ensure provision of needed coaching to all project staff at field level and coordinate with the provincial manager and Project Manager in terms of staff training
- Appraise the performance of project staff twice per year and regularly follow up their performance Plans
- Hold regular meetings with the project staffs at field level to share success, solve problems, and plan ahead
- Solving conflicts when raised and providing proper recommendations for solution to the apparent conflicts and problems
- Exchange experience and lessons learnt among the field staffs
- Ensure field staff adhere and follow CARE all policies
- Ensure timely collection of quality reports from the field staffs & ensure timely and quality submission of reports to his/her Supervisor
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of CARE properties
- Ensure that complaint handling mechanism is in place and comment and concern of beneficiaries is heard and responded.
- Ensure field team provide quality Human Interest Stories and photos of the project
- Prepare procurement requests to ensure on-time provision and transport of all needed equipment’s and materials for the project implementation
Actively participate in meetings at the local level
Job Requirement
- Competence
Enthusiasm for the work, excellent analytical and project management skills, monitoring and giving feedback, willingness to work in rough field conditions and tough security situation; willingness to travel as per the project requirements in every situation, a self-starter and a planner with professional communication skills.
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge and Skills:
General management and leadership, community development, monitoring & evaluation, report writing, good spoken and written English language and computer skills are required. - Traits
Build personal and inter project relationship, analyze issues, cultural sensitivity, gender sensitivity, teamwork, punctuality, establish a conductive working environment and persuade others
Education:
At least Bachelor degree.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years work experiences in project management, relevant technical field and humanitarian programing preferably with UN and international NGOs
Languages Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication in three languages Dari Pashto and English,
