About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA: Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). IPPF is an alliance of 151 family planning associations known as Member Associations which has projects in over 180 countries. IPPF continues to be the largest civil society provider of reproductive health information and services in the world.
Job Description
The Social Mobilizer will work under the direct supervision of the FHH Coordinator. She/he will closely work with the targeted communities within the project area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Conduct program awareness community meetings at the beginning of the project in targeted communities.
- Organize community public meetings and facilitate the selection of the Committee members in district levels and support them in fulfilling their duties.
- Conduct regular community meetings in the project targeted areas.
- Conduct monitoring visits, data collection and reporting.
- Develop weekly updates and monthly reports on community mobilization activities.
- Identify and report any challenges/problems to the FHH Coordinator and present solutions.
- Any other duties as directed by the Project management.
Job Requirement
- BBA or any other relevant field, medical education background is preferred.
- Experience in Community Development Projects with health project background
- Minimum of two years of relevant NGO experience at national level is required
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish working relations with target communities and project team.
