Job Description

Description of Role:

The Community based Training Officer is responsible for supporting the coordination, administration, and delivery of training in line with the training plan at community level for Community health workers and community gate keepers on Family planning. She/he is also responsible for collecting the needed documents, processing the administrative required procedures, and assisting the Training Coordinator in preparing training reports by collecting and consolidating the training data. She/he will work under the supervision of the Training Coordinator.

Job Description:

  • Mapping out the CHWs training plans and schedules for the project team and relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsible for maintaining effective communication with government officials, local communities, and other stakeholders.
  • Support with Training Coordinator on developing training assessment tools and quality control standards to meet the identified training needs.
  • Support in creating linkages and coordination with relevant departments of the Ministry of Public health and provincial health directorates to ensure timely organizing and conducting of the training.
  • Liaise with Training Coordinator to ensure all arrangements are completed including a final list of trainees and dissemination of training information with related departments and focal points.
  • Ensuring that all the required training facilities & training materials are developed, printed, and arranged well in advance and before the training.
  • Work in close coordination with the administrative department on arranging the administrative requirements and venue registration/booking for the training.
  • Organize and follow up on the accommodation & per diems for training beneficiaries with the Administrative & Finance departments of AFGA.
  • Quality assurance and quality control of the training at community level to ensure high-quality training is conducted to the target groups.
  • Ensuring that the training records are managed and updated on regular basis.
  • Prepare weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly training reports to the Training Coordinator.
  • Any other tasks relevant to training and fulfilling the training program’s needs.

The Training Officer will perform other tasks not listed in this Job Description but are reasonably associated with the position. The Training Officer must show initiative and complete all tasks given by her/his supervisor promptly and to the standard expected.

Job Requirement

  • Higher education in the medical field (MD, Bachelor in midwifery, etc.)
  • Similar experience in the community reproductive & maternal health field is preferable.
  • At least 3 years of proven work experience as a Training Officer, Training Facilitator, or similar roles preferably at community level.
  • Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashtu Languages.
  • Very good knowledge of Ms. Office package.
  • Very good skills in time management and planning.
  • Very good reporting skills
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to various provinces of Afghanistan.
