HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO has implemented over 283 projects in the areas of health system strengthening, mental health and psychosocial support services, and disease control. Currently, HNTPO has 18 active projects in several provinces including EPHS & BPHS services in three provinces, training of psychosocial counsellors from all 34 provinces of Afghanistan, malaria control program, Gender base violence project , psychosocial support and mobile health services for IDPs and public private partnership.

Job Description

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct orientation for Community influential figures
  • Conduct psycho education session for GBV survivors from  IDPs and host communities
  • Provide psychosocial counseling services on daily basis to the clients
  • Register and keep records of all clients receiving counseling services
  • Fill/submit monthly statistic form and reports to FPC in-charge and  provincial officer.
  • Keeping all records confidential
  • To facilitate GBV victims’ visits with the medical doctor.
  • To work closely with the doctors for implementation of standard referral protocol for GBV victims.
  • To conduct a regular follow up of the cases.
  • To ensure confidentiality including all client records
  • Try best to protect GBV victims from further harm.
  • To follow procedures ensuring the confidentiality of GBV victim at every step
  • To follow ethical guidelines of GBV response
  • Report on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to immediate supervisor.
  • Attend all relevant meetings requested by supervisor relevant to the project goals.
  • Assist in other duties in the health facility, requested by supervisor

Job Requirement

  • Psychosocial counselling certificate or at least midwifery   
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the same position
  • At least 1 years’ experience in the field of Gender-Based violence prevention and response projects desirable.
  • Having good communication and computer skills
