About Afghan Midwife Association: Afghanistan Midwifery Association is one of the biggest professional associations in Afghanistan. The purpose of the Afghan Midwives Association (AMA) is to advocate for the midwifery profession and strengthen the role of midwives to ensure the wellbeing of the women and their families in Afghanistan. AMA has played an important role on improvement of midwifery profession, advocating for the recognition of midwifery as a separate profession. The Association is leading the whole midwives related issues in the country; focus is on midwifery education, registration, accreditation and career development. AMA is widely recognized association both nationally and internationally, it has strong network with key actors including donors, UN family, line ministries and other associations. The association has been advocating for the establishment of Afghanistan Midwifery and Nursing Council. Working with MoPH, development partners and policy makers at the government level. Afghan midwives put lots of energy and efforts to tackle the high level maternal and child mortality in Afghanistan. Since there is no such control mechanism in our education system, and the quality of education system through private providers are always under question, with rapid increase in number and less opportunity for continues education and mentorship of clinical practice the question of quality care automatically raised. The current BPHS and EPHS has not include in- service training thus most of graduated health practitioners facing lot of problem in actual practice during clinical work.

Job Description

Scope of work:

The IT Officer is based at AMA Main Office Kabul. He will be responsible for all AMA IT related tasks and its projects.

IT Support Officer Job Descriptions

Key Responsibility Areas

Provide first point of IT Support contact for all AMA staff.
Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
Assisting staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face; email or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
Troubleshoot technical issues to resolution and/or escalate to supplier or partner organizations as required.
Manage, Maintain, Configure and install Server within the organization Network and system,
Ensure system and data security is maintained at a high standard, ensuring the integrity of the AMA network is not compromised.
Expedite the repair of hardware faults and software configuration problems, notifying or forwarding to relevant suppliers in a timely manner.
Monitor performance of AMA systems, ensuring issues are appropriately escalated and resolved.
Provide technical assistance to project teams and undertake technical project roles when required; supporting the roll-out of new applications and solutions.
Demonstrate commitment to and promotion of a culture of service excellence and continual improvement within the IT team.
Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with key suppliers, conducting dealings in a professional and appropriate manner.
Assist with ongoing development of related firm policies and procedures, including appropriate controls around organizational change management. Role Competencies

Job Requirement

Qualifications or experience necessary Essential:

Bachelor degree in BCA, B.Sc. from recognized university
Relevant IT/industry experience and/or qualifications/experience in the following areas: Windows Server, Windows 7 & Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated understanding of IT Management.
3-4 years of work experience in Information technology and troubleshooting,

Desirable:

Experience within a financial / accounting IT packages.
Experience with any of the following: Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Lync Server, MYOB Accountants Enterprise, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWare vSphere.
Relevant IT degree or industry experience.
