Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Producing all types of Prosthesis & Orthoses and maintaining effective communication with all patients regardless of disability or gender, respecting privacy.

Takes all casts and measurements required for proper fabrication and fitting.

Modifies positive and/or negative models and/or layouts of design to obtain optimal fit and alignment.

Carries out fitting, static and dynamic alignment and, where appropriate, preliminary training and initial check-out.

Performs and/or supervises fabrication of the prosthesis or orthosis.

Advises the team and participates directly in final check-out and evaluation of fit, function and cosmetic.

Instructs the patient or family in the use and care of the device.

Take part in follow-up procedures as well as maintenance, repair and replacement of the            appliances.

To work in close collaboration with the P&O supervisor and inform regularly about the activity of the P&O services and any problems arising in the department

Recognizes the need to repeat any of the identified steps to fit and function optimism.

To follow the codes of tools & equipment of its department and inform P&O Supervisor when a code of an item removes

Ensure the training, evaluation and follow up of the person with the appliance, by performing the necessary technical checks, initial standing and gait training, providing information about the use, maintenance, repair and the replacement times of appliance. Involving the caregivers and patient families in the treatment process.

Collaborates and consults with others engaged in the management of the patient/client,

Promote gender equality, non-discrimination regarding ethnic, political and religious background

To participate actively in workshops, seminars & conference organized by the NAC management

Promotes good coordination with other NAC projects, all RMOs units and other units/departments at RMOs

Oral and verbal fluency in:

Pashto

Dari

English

Qualifications Required

BSc in Prosthetic and Orthotic sciences or any other relevant fields from any recognized university.

ISPO Category-II certificate

3- years Prosthetic and Orthotic Diploma

Work Experience

Minimum 3 years practical experience.

Skills

Able to work with minimum Supervision

Able to work under pressure

Able to adopt changes

Able to manage many clients at a time.

Able to manage documentation and record keeping

Having good hand skills in manufacturing Orthopedic devices

Able to work in team
