About Afghan Family Guidance Association |AFGA: About AFGA: Afghan Family Guidance Association (AFGA) is an Afghan non-governmental, not-for-profit and non-political organization established in 1968. Alongside the Ministry of Public Health, AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health since its inception. AFGA is a fully accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and an important partner of UNFPA. A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points. About Hospital: AFGA is in the process of establishment of a 20-bed hospital in Kabul, aimed at providing quality Reproductive Health services to mothers and newborns. The hospital will be fully equipped with modern medical equipment, facilities and staffed by experts. As part of a long-term development plan, hospital services will continuously expand, serving as the central hub for AFGA outreach and small Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to refer patients needing advanced care. The hospital will adhere to national and international standards for patient safety and quality service, ensuring it meets the needs of target communities.
Job Description
Summary of the job:
He will be responsible for the managing, storing, distribution of medicines and medical supply in hospital also will be responsible for the monitoring and supervision of how to use medicines inside the hospital.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and verify all the incoming stock against purchase order or delivery slips.
- He will be responsible for the distribution of the medicines to pharmacy according to the rules, collecting accurate and on time of data from the IPD and OPD pharmacies and presenting monthly and quarterly aggregated data to the leadership of the hospital
- Reviewing and verifying physicians' medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety.
- Follow up of appropriate and on time preparing of hospital medicines and consumables
- Monitoring and supervision of medicines and medical equipment usage
- Maintain accurate and up-to -date inventory records, including incoming and outgoing stock.
- Conduct regular stock counts and ensure the inventory management system is properly maintained.
- Prepare inventory report and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Organize and store items in appropriate locations ensuring optimal space utilization and easy retrieval.
- Ensure the cleanliness, safety and security of the storage area at all times.
- Monitor stock levels and report when reordering is necessary to avoid stockouts.
- Prepare and maintain documentation and records, including requisition, goods received, stock cards and deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure accurate and timely supply materials.
- On time reporting of close to expire, short date and slow-moving medicines to the hospital leadership and follow up the issue.
- Providing medication education and counseling to patients and their families.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly consumption report to hospital leadership
- Active participation in planning and performing of training for the staff in hospital
- Implementing and maintaining medication-use policies and procedures.
- Participating in the development and implementation of medication safety initiatives.
- According to the need perform 24 hours duty base on schedule prepared by hospital
- Participate in sub committee meetings of performing related to the pharmacy
- Participate in quarterly evaluation of standards
Job Requirement
- Should have bachelor degree from pharmacy faculty and should be attested by MoHE
- At least one year of experience after graduation
- 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Should have skill of computer (Word and Excel)
- Fluent in national languages and should know English
- Effective communication and interpersonal skill.
