Job Description

  • The FHH project manager, under the direct supervision of the RMNCAH Manager in Kabul, holds the overall responsibility for managing and administering the Family Health House (FHH) project in Herat province. This includes ensuring that the project aligns with the agreed objectives and stays within the allocated budgets.
  • Implementation of the project activities in collaboration with the UNFPA Regional Office and Coordination of FHH-related activities at the provincial level through the Provincial Health Coordination Committee (PHCC).
  • Facilitate and conduct joint supportive supervision visits with UNFPA regional PPHD and CBHC department of MoPH to FHHs and HPs.
  • Ensuring timely reporting through DHIS2, KOBO and reporting kit distribution data etc.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly progress narrative reports for the AADA main office for the further process.
  • Participating in UNFPA monthly and quarterly review meetings organized at the provincial level
  • Attending online meetings. 
  • Facilitate the audit and spot check of the project and compliance with the recommendation.
  • Coordination with BPHS and EPHS implementers and establish a proper referral system for complicated cases from FHH to higher-level health facilities using UNFPA-donated ambulance.
  • Ensuring regular maintenance and proper use of ambulances.
  • Responsible for the planning, implementation and training activities.
  • Monitoring of FHH and Health Posts.
  • Provide technical and managerial support to UNFPA-funded humanitarian BHCs and MHTs
  • Ensuring preparedness and timely RMNCHA response to affected people by natural disease, IDPs and returnees. 
  • Ensuring that “Do No Harm” practices are incorporated and upheld throughout the planning and implementation of the project. 
  • Ensuring proper pharmacy management of FHHs that includes the consumption, supplies, stocks, rational use of drugs etc...
  • Meet regularly with health shuras, community leaders and other stakeholders, to ensure project effectiveness and community involvement in project implementation.
  • Maintaining good working relations with key actors in the province.
  • Any other duties assigned by RMNCAH Manager.

Job Requirement

  • Afghan National
  • MD degree- graduate from a recognized medical faculty
  • Three years of related experience including (Project Management and community-based health services)
  • Proficient in MS office (esp. excel and world);
  • Proficient in effective written and verbal communication in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to remote FHHs.
  • Fluency in written and spoken local languages. 
  • Knowledge of local environment.
