Job Description

The Trainer Specialist will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs on climate-smart agricultural and poultry practices to women farmers in Pashtoon Zarghon. This role involves collaborating with agricultural and poultry experts to develop culturally appropriate training materials and delivering interactive training sessions for the beneficiaries in the said location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Design: Design training programs that address the specific needs and challenges of women farmers, incorporating climate-smart agriculture practices and poultry farming techniques.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate interactive training sessions on topics such as organic farming, water conservation, soil management, livestock care, and poultry farming, with an emphasis on climate-resilient and sustainable practices.
  • Practical Demonstrations: Conduct on-field demonstrations and hands-on exercises related to climate-smart agriculture and poultry care, ensuring practical application of both sustainable farming techniques and effective poultry management.
  • Participant Engagement: Engage with women farmers to understand their learning needs, encourage active participation, and provide individualized support tailored to both climate-smart agriculture and poultry farming.
  • Training Materials: Develop and distribute training materials, including manuals, guides, and visual aids, tailored to the local context, with a focus on both climate-smart agriculture practices and poultry farming.
  • Monitoring and Feedback: Monitor the effectiveness of training sessions, collect feedback from participants, and make necessary adjustments to improve future training, ensuring that both poultry farming and climate-smart agriculture techniques are effectively taught.
  • Coordination: Ensure effective coordination with the project team, including the project manager, field coordinator, and other staff, to align the training with overall project goals, focusing on integrating climate-smart agriculture and poultry farming into the program.
  • Other Tasks: Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the project manager or executive director related to poultry training, climate-smart agriculture, and development.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in agricultural training and poultry practices, preferably with a focus on climate-smart practices.
  • Strong knowledge of organic farming, water management, soil conservation, sustainable agriculture and poultry.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs to rural communities.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and adapt training methods to different learning styles.
  • Fluent in local languages (Pashto, Dari) and efficient in English language.
