About HealthNet TPO: HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. In 1992 HealthNet TPO was established by ‘Doctors without Borders’ to bridge the gap between emergency aid and structural development. The organization is now the result of a merger between HealthNet International (HNI) and the Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO). HNI has knowledge and experience in reinforcing healthcare systems and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of transmissible diseases. TPO is an expert in the field of psychosocial and mental health care for survivors of war and natural disasters. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is managed by a team of qualified Afghans and supported by a team of experts at the HQ of the organization in Holland. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. HealthNet TPO is currently implementing projects in almost 20 provinces of Afghanistan and the major program it implements are HER (Health Emergency Response) projects in three provinces, Nutrition, Mental Health and Psychosocial, Malaria Control program, Tuberculus....... through a community system strengthening approach. HealthNet TPO has a zero tolerance toward sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse. HNITPO takes seriously all concerns and complaints about sexual exploitation and abuse and child abuse involving HNITPO employees and Related Personnel.
Job Description
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Supervisory Tasks:
- To supervise and manage the coordination with focal points in the assigned healthcare facilities
- Responsible for day to day management of all psychosocial counseling related tasks in Family Protection centre.
Technical Tasks:
- Individual counselling and or focused psychosocial support.
- Group counseling support.
- Assessment and analysis of GBV survivor from PSC point of view.
- Keeping all records confidential
- To facilitate GBV Survivors’ visits with the psychiatrist, medical doctor, gynecologist and others physician in District Hospital, Regional Hospital, Provincial Hospital as necessary.
- To work closely with the health facilities for implementation of standard referral protocol for GBV Survivors.
- To conduct a regular follow up of the cases entering Psychosocial Counseling Centers.
- To conduct regular M& E visits to the focal points in the assigned healthcare facilities
- To insure confidentiality including all client records and Psychosocial Counseling Centers records
- Try her best to protect GBV Survivors from further harm.
- To assist GBV Survivors in designing a Safety Plan for life threatening situations
- To follow procedures ensuring the confidentiality of GBV survivor at every step
- To follow ethical guidelines of GBV response established by Psychosocial Counseling Centers
- To provide on job training to psychosocial counselors in other healthcare facilities.
- Report on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to immediate supervisor.
- Attend all relevant meetings requested by supervisor relevant to the project goals.
- Assist in other duties at Psychosocial Counseling Centers, requested by supervisor.
- Meet with provincial/ district Government departments such as department of Justice, Interior, Women’s Affairs; Office of Attorney General, police departments and NGOs such as BPHS/EPHS implementers and GBV/Gender actors, legal actors, protection and human rights agencies.
- Map the psychosocial counselors working at health facility level/ or at NGOs level for further coordination, referrals and follow up of GBV cases
- Continue and expand relationships with NGOs, local government officials
Coordination:
Job Requirement
- Bachelor of Psychology, Social Science counseling or any certified psychosocial counselor by MOPH.
- At least 2 years’ experience in the field of training or community mobilization, honest and committed to work.
- Having 2 years work experience
- Having work experience in the field of GBV
