Job Description

Position Overview
The Position of Obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) specilaist will be based in UHI priority HFs of Kabul city
and will Manage of complication cases at OB/GYN ward of the HFs
• Position Reports To: Cluster Manager,
• Supervisory position: No
• Location: Kabul city
• Number of Position: 1
Responsibilities
• Management of complicated cases.
• Prescribe and ensure appropriate drugs and medical treatment.
• Perform major surgery for selective and emergency cases (C-section, Hysterectomy, tubectomy,
ovarian cystectomy etc.).
• Follow up of pre-operative and post-operative cases.
• On job training of joiner doctors and midwives.
• Health education to the women regarding to their problems.
• Provide ANC/PNC to high-risk mothers.
• Perform normal delivery and breech extraction if there is any difficulty.
• Accountable to the patient and have a friendly behavior with the patient.
• Work within hospital’s rules and regulations.
• Implement induced/augmented labor if needed.
• Participate in training and meeting as needed.
• Perform related administrative duties and ensure patient’s documentations are completed.
• Perform other duties directed by the supervisor and line manager.
• Ensure that all procedures related to the infection prevention are followed correctly.
• Carry out ultra sound examinations as needed.

Job Requirement

Qualification Required:
• Degree of MD and specialization in OB/GYN approved by MoPH or MoHE.
• Working experience as specialist at least 1-3 years in hospital.
• Good English language skills. Computer skills are preferable.
• Flexible mentality
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Abilities/Skills:
• Ability to work successfully in teams, across a diverse team in a complex environment with multiple
tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform
• Strong skills in facilitation, team building and coordination
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong writing, analytical and communication
skills in Dari, Pashtu and English (preferable)
