Job Description
Job Porpuse
The Nurse will support the doctor at the street children's clinic by educating patients on health and nutrition, dispensing medications and dressings, and providing nutrition services to malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women in the Street Working Children Enrichment Center.
Major Responsibilities
Conduct regular health education sessions for mothers, caregivers, and children on topics such as hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy behaviours.Develop and distribute educational materials to promote health awareness among the target population.
Provide first-aid and wound care to children with minor injuries or infections.
Perform dressing changes, clean and dress wounds, and apply topical medications as per the doctor's instructions.
Educate children and their caregivers on proper wound care and hygiene to prevent infections.
Maintain a well-stocked first-aid kit and ensure the availability of necessary medical supplies.
Assist the doctor in dispensing medications to children and their families as per the prescribed regimen.
Ensure proper labeling of medicines with dosage instructions and storage guidelines.
Record the distribution of medicines in the pharmacy log and maintain stock inventory.
Educate patients on the proper use, storage, and potential side effects of the medications.
Assess the nutritional status of malnourished children and provide appropriate nutritional supplementation.
Educate mothers and caregivers on balanced diets, proper feeding practices, and food preparation techniques.
Maintain records of nutritional assessments and interventions for each child.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all services provided to the children and their families.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss challenges, share best practices, and plan for future interventions.
Adhere to World Vision's policies and procedures, including the Child and Adult Safeguarding standards.
Perform any other duties as assigned by her supervisor
Job Requirement
Required Education, training, license, registration, and/or Certification
Diploma of Nursing,
Required Professional Experience
At least 2 years of Working experience in hospitals, clinics or MHNTs.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications
Attended to IMAM/ nutrition training is preferred
Excellent communication skills
Strong capacity building & facilitation skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Knowledge of child rights
