About Company
About Jhpiego: Urban Health Initiative: The USAID funded Urban Health Initiative (UHI) Program’s goal is to improve health outcomes of people living in urban areas, particularly focusing on the health of women and children and other vulnerable populations. Interventions aim to increase demand, access and quality of health services. Lead by Jhpiego and implemented by a dynamic consortium of organizations, UHI is implemented in five cities in Afghanistan – Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar.
Job Description
1. To provide necessary advise and assist on ANC, PNC, FP methods and nutrition.
2. Provide information and consultation on Family Planning for any patient/client comes to health
center.
3. Be Responsible for basic gynecological examination and ask/consult the doctor for advice in
case of need.
4. Pregnancy testing.
5. Counseling on Reproductive health specially on Family Planning methods.
6. Completion of notes, registration and other paper work.
7. To screen and treat women for anemia and other pregnancy related pathologies in consultation
with the doctor.
8. To conduct normal, assisted and abnormal deliveries in a safe environment.
9. To screen pregnant and Lactating women and Under 5 children for nutritional condition and
treat/ counsel patient/ client in the light of MoPH Nutrition guideline.
10. To promote breast feeding for at least 2 years.
11. To provide and promote health education taking in to account cultural and religious factors.
Job Requirement
Qualifications:
1. Degree from recognized midwifery institute or equivalent to that in midwifery.
2. Clinical experience (At least 5 years).
3. Good knowledge of written and spoken Pashto and Dari is desirable.
4. NGO working experience.

4. Be able to work on own initiative and achieve results.
