Job Description
- Be able to prepare an update list of the EPI and MCH dropouts to follow them in outreach sessions.
- To store, handle and maintain vaccines as per Afghanistan N-EPI/UNICEF/WHO protocols.
- To dispose contaminated waste in a responsible manner to prevent exposure and harm.
- To provide EPI services in the HFs and out-reach.
- To provide appropriate health education to prevent dropout and increase coverage.
- To motivate the drop out clients, search them in the target area and refer them for completion of remaining vaccines.
- To provide health education for her/his client to mobilize them to the Health Facilities and outreach sessions.
- To attend training programs as required by the JACK and other stakeholders.
- To provide complete, accurate, clear and on time monthly reports and other activity reports to the line manager and the project office.
- To maintain proper filing and keep the relevant record as required by the project.
- Work as back up vaccinator in those HFs where needed.
- Provision of materials and information for health education sessions to the clients and communities.
- Administer EPI services to all children and woman according to EPI policy.
- Manage cold chain system according to EPI protocols.
- Support the provision of primary health care within the community.
- Counsel and educate patients, the family, and community about immunization and in relevant areas of health.
- Perform limited, select administrative duties such as patient charting, recording, and reporting of data, clinic and/or facility management, or coordination of specific outreach programs.
- Identify and report immediately any problem which interferes in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor.
- Participate in weekly meeting of health facility to share information and discuss the program progress.
- Respect and follow JACK’S policy and never neglect, abuse, harm and exploit children, young people, and adult at risk,
- Report any actual or suspicious harm to the children and vulnerable adult.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, maintain humanitarian principles and respect humanitarian law.
Job Requirement
- At least baccalaureate degree, medical field related degree is preferable.
- 1-year work experience in relevant field is required.
- Successfully completed immunization initial training.
- Previous experience is desirable.
- The candidate must have good human and communication skills.
- Candidate must be able to speak fluently in Dari, Pashto and English will be a plus point.
- Computer proficiency will be an advantage.
