Job Description

General Responsibilities:

SRH Supervisor will work under the direct responsibility of Project Officer. She is responsible for overall supervision of mother and child health care services in the MHTs as well as in the fix HFs. She will ensure quality of the services through her regular field visits and providing on the job training with clear action plan to the health facilities.

She is responsible to supervise the planned SRH activities in the selected HFs.

She will assist implementation SRH  trainings for midwives and other staffs related to SRH activities (i.e. MHT MD etc.)

She will analysis of SRH monthly data and provide feedbacks to the HFs if there was need for improvement.

She will cross check all the SRH data with MIAR report and bring correction as per the registration.

Objective 1: To improve quality of the SRH services

Activities/main duties

  • Prepare monthly , weekly activity plan for supportive supervision.
  • SRH supervisor will conduct supportive supervision of HFs (MHT, HF) MCH services regularly as per approved plan by line manager and security focal point.
  • During the visit, she will ensure that infection prevention is respected in daily practice for the MCH units.
  • She will support the staff with provision of on-the-job trainings on SRH
  • She will provide hard copies of  SRH validated MoPH medical protocols and policies are respected by medical staff in their daily procedures in MCH section (ANC, PNC, FP, Institutional delivery etc.)
  • She will make sure that the SRH HMIS tools  are properly filled.
  • To make sure that RUD is respecting in the treatment.
  • To do continue need assessment either for the equipment/tools or for the capacity building of the staff.
  • She will do planned mentorships or post follow up of the conducted SRH trainings for SRH staff (midwives, female doctors etc.).
  • She will make sure that PU-AMI provided kits and equipment are properly used and maintained.
  • She will provide support to HR and program team during the recruitment process of Midwives (questions for the test, interview attendance etc.)
  • She will closely fallow up the referral cash documents , kits distribution documents and linked wit the relevant Sop’s.
  • She will ensure to measured proper anthropometric measurements of PLWs are taken properly as per the MIYCN/IMAM guidelines.
  • She will ensure nutrition commodities are properly distributing as per the national guidelines.
  • She will ensure the criteria for the admission of AM-PLWs.

Objective 2: Data collection and follow up

Activities/main duties

  • She will provide support health facilities and collect monthly data, analyze of the data and provide feedbacks to the health team.  
  • In partnership with the M&E department, she will ensure the accuracy of data with direct monitoring and supportive supervision.
  • She will support M&E team for the data collection of SRH services if needed .
  • She will make sure all the project targets and achievements are available at the health facility level and ensure all Midwives has the capacity to do the calculation of the MCH targets.
  • She will share regular recommendations for improvement of the quality care service of SRH.
  • She will make sure that MCH reports are receiving timely .

Objective 3: Project Supportive Supervision .

Activities/main duties

  • she will conduct regular supportive supervision to ensure quality care service are implementing based on the objective of the project.
  • She will provide on the job trainings for the SRH relevant team on the spot.
  • she will identify gaps and challenges in the quality of implementation and share it on time with her line manger.
  • She will follow up on the good distribution of cash for pregnant women at MHT level.
  • She will follow up on referral of PLW by liaising with the referral units (HF) and will ensure the quality of the health care provided.
  • Identify any challenge and problem in term of cash distribution.
  • Ensure the fund is available for referral cases at the HF level .

Objective 4: Coordination, Communication and Reporting

Activities/main duties

  • she will make sure a good coordination between the HF staff for the better quality of the services.
  • She will  ensure proper internal process are in place such as between EPI , OPD , MHPSS , etc.  
  • She will timely share information and/or feedback either verbally or written with the relevant team then she will do their regular follow up.
  • She will make a good communication link between the HF and PU-AMI management team (,DPM pharmacy, field supervisors SRH Specialist etc.).
  • she will organize regular meetings for sharing the feedback and attending their routine meetings.
  • She will share HFs needs with the relevant responsible.
  • She will provide supportive supervision report with line manager.
  • She ensures proper action plan are shared with HFs and technical line mangers and properly follow up with.

Job Requirement

Qualification/ Requirements

  • MD degree from a recognized university, which familiar with BPHS/EPHS.
  • Having attested documents
  • At least 1 years of experience at national or/and international humanitarian organization MNCH section.
  • Strong knowledge/familiarity in the central region.
  • Experience in the provision of trainings.
  • Good knowledge of MNCH standards
  • Strong capacity of supervision, monitoring, communication and reporting skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Pashto
  • Good knowledge of English for the reporting purpose.
  • Risorius, Autonomes, Adaptable and Polyvalent.
  • Stress resistant.
  • To know local languages (Pashto and Dari) and English.
