Job Description

Job Porpuse

The Earthquake Response Project aims to meet the emergency health service needs of communities in earthquake-affected areas of Herat Province. Its objective is to reduce morbidity and mortality rates among women, girls, boys, men, and persons with disabilities (PLWD) in these areas.

We are currently seeking a full-time Doctor for the Earthquake Response Project MHNTs. The position will be based in the earthquacke affected areas and will involve providing general health and nutrition services to the project's identified population. The Doctor will also be responsible for delivering mental health services and working closely with the project's nutrition assistant and project manager to ensure the quality and standards of project activities.

Major Responsibilities 

  • Ensure all team members using PPE and uniform properly (At least mask, glass, and gloves)
  • Ensure the IPC is in place at the MHNT level.
  • Registration of all patients, using the different OPD services.
  • Make health education plan in consultation with the health care providers.
  • Diagnosis and appropriate course of treatment to the clients based on the MoPH approved guidelines on best quality manner in particular for SAM, MAM and respective diseases.Adhere to rational use of medicine.
  • Make sure the waste disposal plan for the designated clinics is in place and act upon.
  • Make sure the nutrition nurse collected the empty pocket and store in proper place.
  • Make sure the health facility environment is clean.
  • Set up meeting with the health shura to receive updated about the community needs and establish community dialogue.
  • Make sure the midwife, vaccinator, promoters, nurses and other clinic staff are properly works and deliver results.
  • Ensure the compliant box and other accountability mechanism are in place.
  • Provision of Monthly Integrated Activity Report in close coordination with the clinic staff and monthly register and tally sheets.
  • Provision of weekly pharmaceutical consumption report.
  • Make a detail referral system for any cases that need extra services to higher level of health facility.
  • Any other duties as delegated by supervisor.
  • Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards.

 

Day to day registration based on the approved format by MoPH

Sending the hard copy of the MIAR to the Health sector department focal point

Other

Adhere to WV Child and Adult Safeguarding policy and standards.

Adhere to WV accountability standards.

To be aware and prepared to implement WV Afghanistan Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs plan under the context of emergency situation interventions.

Job Requirement

Required Professional Experience and Education

Work experience at least 1-2 years in the MHNTs, BPHS and EPHS clinics/ hospitals. 

Graduated from Medical faculty ( MD)

Speciality in internal, CDC, MHPSS and surgery is preferred.

MD certificate is mandatory

 

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

Health related training certificate will be preferred

At least I year working in the hospital/health facility is preferred.

Ability to work in a team environment and remote areas.

Very good communication with staff & clients.

Languages empowerment (Dari – Pashto)

Flexibility for work.

Strong capacity building & facility skill.

Ability to travel within the work environment

Fluency in Dari and/ or Pashto, both written and spoken
