Job Description

Job Purpose:

Under the WASH & Civil Coordinator supervision, the WASH intern will learn WASH-Program projects technical survey, design, drawing, estimation, and implementation procedures.

 Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Learn and acquire WASH-projects planning, implementation, and design.
  • Improve her skills in conducting technical surveys, designs, drawings, and estimation of WASH-construction activities.
  • She will be trained in technical design of  WASH related construction projects.
  • To involve her in the administrative process of projects to enhance her skills in that area.
  • To involve her in the document process of the project with related support departments on how to process the WASH-Project documents.
  • She will be trained in preparing and keeping the project document in the filing system.
  • Learning the procurement procedures for WASH-related projects for the on-time delivery of project deliverables.
  • To involve her in acquiring the needed skills for the community, HFs, and school-based Hygiene awareness sessions.

Enhancing her skills in the reporting of WASH data.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards.  Conducts work with the highest level of integrity

Qualifications:

Should be a fresh university graduate (within the last two years) from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, water resourcing engineering, architecture, or any other relevant field.

Adaptability: Easily adapts to the work routine, adaptability to live and interact with project staff, and capacity and ability to live and/or work in environments where projects are implementing.

Professionalism: Has the knowledge and understanding of engineering activities related WASH and implementation strategies and approaches and project monitoring systems. Ability to think critically, work under pressure, meet commitments/deadlines, and show persistence in facing challenges.

Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others and shows a real commitment to maintaining open communication with the client and team members.

Teamwork: Committed to working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve project tasks for the team. Willing to learn from others and open to giving and receiving feedback.

Flexibility/adaptability: This requires the candidate to have the sufficient capacity to adapt to the IMC work methodology and different work environments (office and field) that the candidate might have later during a mission.

Important Point: You will be asked to travel or be deployed anywhere within the program area to perform services. There may be some insecure areas where you may need to travel and perform the activity without any hesitation in coordination with the security department
