Job Description
CONTEXT
Mental stability plays an important role in today’s mechanical lives, any negative changes to the lives of human beings have a direct effect on their behaviors and lifestyles, and in most cases, people find less chance to deal with the circumstances logically. Psychosocial services are a complementary component to legal services and aim to reinforce the social skills and interpersonal skills of beneficiaries not to fall into unwanted circumstances during outbreaks.
OBJECTIVES
The project needs to recruit PSS counselors working full–time. The primary responsibilities include offering clients consultations and implementing individualized psychological services.
The local people identify beneficiaries who require psychosocial support. Beneficiaries who are registered in the legal department are also targeted since the result ion of cases depends upon mental and psychological health. The psychosocial package is including individual, group counseling, and family therapy.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager, the facilitator will work on the following tasks to coordinate the implementation of the project in Herat:
- In close coordination with the project manager implement the PSS component in targeted areas.
- Conduct PSS-related meetings and training for the targeted clients.
- Conduct capacity-building training for targeted volunteers worker.
- Ensure adherence to WASSA policies, handbooks, procedures, and SOPs/guidelines.
- Conduction of related beneficiaries survey and filed all relevant forms.
- Scheduling client consultations on individual, group, and family bases.
- Assessing clients and identifying their problems.
- Engaging in discussions with clients and making them feel comfortable.
- Identify and refer the client to those who need medicines.
- Undertaking psychometric testing.
- Evaluating clients' responses to PSS services over time.
- Organizing a long-term counseling plan that involves multiple visits.
- Offering services to all age groups.
- Offering both one-on-one and group counseling.
- Keeping a detailed account of the client's mental health history.
- Being clients and building relationships based on trust.
- Perform any other related tasks as directed by the Project Manager.
- Conduct and facilitate psychosocial education and awareness raising.
- Monitoring and supporting CFS centers.
- Be able to manage, facilitate and conduct the meetings.
- Perform any other related tasks as directed by the Project Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- He is responsible to Report regularly on project activities and update the progress of project implementation to PM.
- Focuses on impact and result for the client
- Approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
- Builds strong relationships with clients and external actors
- Demonstrates openness to change and ability to manage complexities
- Provide regular progress reports to the MPCA Supervisor and Project Manager.
- Any other relevant duties assigned by the MPCA supervisor/project manager.
METHODOLOGY:
The PSS counselors will be supervised by Project Manager and other relevant entities, PSS counselors will conduct individual counseling, group counseling, and family counseling. Each event takes 2 hours to full day times and each group will be 8 to 24 clients based on the nature of the event. The clients who need more treatment will be identified and referred to healthcare centers.
Job Requirement
JOB REQUIREMENT/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Advanced University Degree in psychology
- Attainment of a state license in counseling psychology.
- Good observational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Empathy and sensitivity when dealing with patients.
- Highly analytical mindset.
- Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English
