About Community World Service Asia: Community World Service Asia is a non-governmental organization that implements humanitarian and development activities in Asia. The Regional Director heads the program in Asia. According to the strategic plan, CWSA needs a Field Engineer to run an effective program.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective community mobilization, and sensitization and improve community coordination.
  • Ensure gender integration and women's participation in all stages of DRR scheme implementation,
  • Highly consider the COVID-19 measurements and other healthcare instructions,
  • Apply the DRR schemes as per the pre-given technical drawing,
  • Ensure the DRR schemes work properly implemented at the field level,
  • Provide orientation and technical guidance to the project participants,
  • Facilitate the construction of gabion walls, check dams and watershed activities at field level and ensure the labors meet the daily workload,
  • Update the activity tracking sheet, journal, and labors attendance on the project side,
  • Maintain proper records of project information and data.
  • Collaborate with the DRR officer in developing DRR joint plans for the communities,
  • Developing the case studies, and taking good project photographs for documentation and visibility purposes.
  • Support the M&E Officer by conducting field monitoring visits and providing the required information and reporting to the M&E Officer.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and accountability standards and principles during the distribution of relief items.
  • Respect the environmental principles, identify major issues and take action on them.
  • Ensure the safety and security of Project and office equipment/material and documents at office and field.
  • Generate timely reports on all field activities.
  • Facilitate and conduct awareness sessions for project stakeholders if required,
  • Follow process flow charts of project activities and provide creative insight in making revisions, when needed.
  • Facilitate mainstreaming of quality and accountability on community level maintaining record of project activities and Q and A.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures/systems of the organization;
  • Work with a cooperative attitude and keep a high standard of work quality.
  • To be flexible in working beyond the official hours and willing to travel to the target area whenever required.
  • Any other relevant tasks assigned by his/her line manager.

The duties listed above cover most of the tasks and responsibilities that would be performed by the individual in this position; however, the Field Engineer can also be assigned any other official task by Management as and when required.

Job Requirement

For the position of Field Engineer, a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or related discipline from a recognized university (National or International) is required.

At least 3 years of experience in implementing and monitoring different types of structures particularly stone masonry protection walls, gabion masonry protection walls, retaining walls, gabion works, check dams, watersheds, flood ways, and others (buildings, etc.)
