Job Description
The Project Manager as main resource person within organization is responsible for managing “food security for people in rural areas in Daikundi, Balkh, Takhar, Helmand, Bamian, provinces are responsible for the staff capacity building beneficiaries technical training to the beneficiaries and stakeholders and we are expected to achieve the following objective:
Providing support in facilitating the food security for in rural areas and entrepreneurial service of their agriculture.
Providing regular training to field staff and beneficiaries.
Providing technical support as needed to the OHW staff in said provinces and other provinces if required.
Frequently travel in the mentioned provinces.
Key Responsibilities:
The titled position will be mainly responsible in working on Agriculture training Sector, building technical capacity of community institutions and beneficiaries in agriculture sector, liaising with beneficiaries, planning of agriculture activities and entrepreneurial service of their agriculture and representation in agriculture sector. The main responsibilities of the titled position are:
Technical implementation of Women economic empowerment and food security for women in rural areas in mentioned provinces according to the plan in the nature of OHW policies and regulations.
Conducting regular training to the farmers
To provide technical support to the project team
To coordinate the agriculture activities with communities and agriculture department in district and provincial level
To work jointly with value chain and marketing officer and Nutrition officer to ensure Nutrition and entrepreneurial service are take plan in agriculture activities.
To contribute in agriculture studies, researches and assessments
To develop technical material and manual for project implementation
To be responsible for quality of the project delivery through regular monitoring and supervision of the project site.
To be responsible for establishing through participatory methods with CDCs/Local shoras
To encourage local farmers in accepting modern agricultural methods and techniques by experimental practical activities
To ensure agriculture institution established in the community and technical and managerial support provided
Prepare written monthly report regarding agriculture training activities and its impact on poor farmer’s life.
To ensure project documents recorded and maintained
Developing best practice case studies, providing good pictures and clips from the project.
Take initiative in respect to agricultural and food security related issues in the target areas (Unforeseen reduction/increase in yields, new diseases etc).
To facilitate the coordination community farmers and agriculture extension department.
To develop the local farmers capacity through conducting trainings, workshops, seminars, demonstration plots establishment, supervision, given technical advises and defining modern techniques.
To be proactive in providing information and agriculture assistance during the emergencies
Any other task assigned by OHW project manager and senior team in relation of Agricultural training and activities.
Reporting Structure
The incumbent will report directly to OHW project manage at the provincial level
Job Requirement
University degree from faculty of Agriculture on agronomy
Understanding of development and relief issues and practices in crops and horticulture production and soil fertility.
Knowledge of training and experiences of training in the same field 3-5 years
Knowledge of research on agriculture experimental design and practices.
Knowledge in gender equity, gender equality and perspective.
3-5 years working within the agriculture trainer sector
Takes responsibility for own work and delegated project/processes (including some leadership).
Be able to work in isolated areas with low facilities and travel by long walk between the target villages
Effective member of team and role model; demonstrates creativity in seeking better ways to do things and shares with team, and promotes high standards.
Anticipates problems and regularly provides solutions.
Computer skill specially on Ms Word, Ms. Excel and PowerPoint and internet
