Job Description
- Screening of all children under five years of age for nutritional status, detect and treat moderate acute malnutrition (MAM) among children aged 6 to 59 months, and prevent these children from becoming severely acutely malnourished;
- Detect and treat severe acute malnutrition (SAM) among children aged 6 to 59 months;
- Screening of all pregnant and Breastfeeding women who attend the BHCs to identify acute malnourished PBWs and treating AM pregnant and Breastfeeding women from the time of confirmed pregnancy up to their sixth month of breastfeeding or their MUAC reach 230mm;
- Distribution of RUTF and RUSF to children with SAM and MAM, respectively;
- Conduct weekly check-ups of children who are in the program;
- Follow up on the weight gain of patients and provide feedback to the caregivers;
- Providing appropriate nutrition counselling and education to the mothers and caretakers;
- Ensuring adequate availability of nutrition supplies and medicines and ensuring stock is pre-positioned as planned;
- Referring complicated SAM and MAM cases to TFUs;
- Facilitates sessions on nutrition, health and hygiene good practices for pregnant and lactating women and caregivers of malnourished children attending the BHC;
- Provide key messages about the proper use of RUSF, RUTF and Super cereal;
- Prepare weekly reports on activities and any necessary reports as requested by the Supervisor;
Any other tasks which BHC may give in charges
Job Requirement
- MoPH Certified Female Nurse
- At least 2 years experience with BPHS
- Good communication skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken local language;
- Ability and willingness work in rural locations;
- Knowledge of local environments;
