Job Description

The Field Coordinator will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the implementation of activities within the project. This position requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure the successful execution of field-level operations. The Field Coordinator will work closely with project stakeholders, farmers, and community members to promote climate-smart agricultural practices, improve livelihoods of smallholder farmers, and enhance resilience to climate change.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Implementation:
    • Oversee the implementation of activities outlined in the project, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
    • Coordinate and supervise field staff, providing guidance, support, and training as necessary.
    • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including farmers, community leaders, and local authorities, to ensure effective project execution.
    • Monitor and evaluate the progress of activities, identifying challenges and proposing solutions to ensure the project's success.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of project activities, including reports, records, and data collection.
  2. Community Engagement and Training:
    • Organize and facilitate awareness campaigns, community meetings, and training workshops to promote climate-smart agricultural practices.
    • Engage with farmers and local communities to foster dialogue, address concerns, and encourage community-level actions in response to climate change challenges.
  3. Resource Distribution and Market Linkages:
    • Coordinate the distribution of quality seeds, organic fertilizers, and bio-pesticides to smallholder farmers, ensuring equitable access and adherence to project guidelines.
    • Organize market linkage events to connect farmers with potential buyers, fostering mutually beneficial partnerships and enhancing market opportunities.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites, ensuring compliance with project plans and desired outcomes.
    • Collect and analyze data on project progress, challenges, and impact, using appropriate monitoring and evaluation tools.
    • Prepare timely and accurate reports, including mid-term and final reviews, documenting achievements, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, social science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project coordination and implementation, preferably in the field of agriculture or rural development.
  • Strong knowledge of climate-smart agricultural practices and sustainable farming techniques.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with farmers, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead and motivate field staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity, gender equality, and community empowerment.
  • Flexibility to work in rural areas and travel to project sites as required.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Dari and Pashto and proficiency in English.
