Job Description
Summary:
The Vaccinator is responsible for providing immunization services in the catchment areas of Mobile Health Teams as per Standard EPI/MoPH guidelines in the province.
- Provide a basic package of vaccinations to newborns, young children, and women.
- Provide beneficiaries with vaccination cards.
- Report Child Safeguarding and/or sexual exploitation cases as and when they are observed.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Regular vaccination to eligible women and children at the level of the mobile health and nutrition team.
- Administration and daily control of vaccine temperature.
- Having regular attendance and a regular and timely reporting system.
- Maintaining and guarding all systems and devices related to the mobile center.
- Performing additional tasks (related to mobile health team services) is requested by the relevant manager
- Good practice with visitors.
- Monitor the child administered with the vaccine for a period of 30mins, orient patients and caregivers on potential side effects, and follow up for severe symptoms
- Taking into account the conditions of immune rabies at the time (100%) of applying the vaccine.
- Disposing of needles and syringes and using a safety box
- Providing health advertisements about the importance of vaccinations and emphasis on keeping the vaccination card correct to the clients.
- Daily control of the temperature of vaccines and recording it on paper, recording the temperature at the beginning of the formalities.
- Registering the adapted vaccines in the relevant registers and tally sheets.
- Preparing and delivering monthly reports to the relevant supervisor at a certain time.
- Ongoing efforts to raise the level of professional knowledge.
- Observing the cleanliness and safety of the relevant room and its proper arrangement.
- Refer complicated cases to doctors or higher levels and follow up on cases
- Provide weekly and monthly report
Personal skills:
- Having a vaccination certificate.
- Necessary characteristics (intimacy, caution, and tolerance).
- Paying attention to the current rules.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly report
Child Protection
- Child Protection: Use observation skills to detect any behavioral changes or specific vulnerability in children that may be the reason for concern and share these observations with the immediate supervisor and social workers team at joint weekly staff meetings to determine appropriate responses.
- Ensure that all child protection-related activities are in line with child protection minimum relevant standards, and enhance programs/activities based on CPMS.
Safeguarding Policy ( Global Code of Conduct)
- Global Code of Conduct ( GCC ) Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Policy on the Protection from sexual exploitation and Abuse ( PSEA ), Directive on Staff Misconduct at workplace and GBV, Operational Risk Management: Undertake to adhere to the Terre des hommes safeguarding policy and the principles connected to children's rights
- Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the safeguarding policy (Global Code of Conduct) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team.
- Make sure all volunteers and visitors sign/understand the Tdh Global code of conduct at a glance and my commitment to child safeguarding.
Safety & Security
- Conduct field visits with the consent of the line manager who checks the security of the area prior.
- Report instantly if you observe any security threat, hear any report of any suspicion, rumors about the safety of the staff and its beneficiaries
- Strictly follow Tdh security policy and regional security plan.
- Ensure and facilitate prompt sharing of information and action on all events relating to security issues
Job Requirement

Knowledge and Competencies:
- Has good knowledge of indicators for and the consequences of types of abuse, exploitation, and violence on children.
- Can present project health activities concerns verbally and in writing.
- Has a good understanding of report writing.
- Has good working knowledge of national and international legal frameworks on vaccination.
- Be able to communicate the national language Pashto and Dari
professional competencies:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience, preferably in a remote site.
- Certificate of immunization from MoPH (Basic Immunisation and Refresher Immunisation training certificate)
- Practical experience in the field of Immunization
