Job Description
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the WASH Programme Officer, He/she will act as a facilitator on community level to obtain good working relations with community and other stakeholders. Project Assistant shall support WASH programme activities;
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of WASH project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget related information.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
- Carry out technical assessments and analyze the data collected towards the implementation of projects in the water, sanitation and hygiene to respond to the needs of IDPs and host community.
- Assist in designing WASH projects intervention and prepare cost estimates for water, sanitation and related hygiene interventions.
- Assist the WASH Officer in preparing final bidding documentation for tender processes.
- Regularly monitor all basic portions of the wash projects in progress and provide weekly updated summary to the WASH Officer
- Prepare daily field reports, analyse the reports and discuss matters that need attention with supervisor.
- Bring to the attention of the supervisor of any works which are not meeting timelines or where quality standards are not being met.
- Ensure that materials are used in accordance with specifications/procedures and instructions from the supervisor, keeping records and coordinating with the logistic officer for request and delivery to implementation sites.
- Prepare and define logistical needs for the implementation of your activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirement
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water management or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of working experience.
Or
High school diploma /Certificate with 4 years of relevant experience.
Experience
- Experience in conducting community mobilization activities such as community mapping and needs assessment, training and coaching of O&M committees, engagement with key stakeholders is required.
- Experience in monitoring team activities such is a strong advantage.
- Experience in coordination with government counterparts is a strong advantage.
- Experience in Cluster coordination and engagement with humanitarian actors is required.
- Direct experience in the targeted provinces (Western and eastern regions) is essential.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
SKILLS

- Knowledge of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH)
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,

Languages
Fluency in English/ Dari and/or Pashto
