Job Description
Position Overview:
The Regional RHCS Officer, operating under the direct supervision of the HAS RHCS Coordinator, is responsible for managing and overseeing the storage and distribution of essential reproductive health life-saving commodities. This role requires ensuring that all supplied commodities are stored according to standard stock protocols, meticulously tracking usage dates, and conducting thorough quality checks on new supplies.
Responsibilities:
Commodity Storage and Distribution: The Regional RHCS Officer will be responsible for properly storing and efficiently distributing reproductive health commodities. They must adhere to established stock procedures to maintain the integrity and availability of the supplies.
Usage Date Tracking: The Regional RHCS Officer must diligently monitor and track the validity of the usage dates for the supplied commodities. This ensures timely and safe utilization of the items.
Quality Control: The Regional RHCS Officer must verify and confirm the quality of all newly received supplies. This involves conducting comprehensive quality checks to ensure that only high-quality commodities are distributed.
Technical Support: As a knowledgeable technical expert, the Regional RHCS Officer is responsible for supporting partner agencies. They will assist in adequately utilizing, storing, record-keeping, and reporting life-saving items. This support will be facilitated by implementing the electronic Logistics Management Information System (eLMIS).
Coordination and Collaboration: The Regional RHCS Officer will collaborate closely with UNFPA and other partner agencies at both the provincial and regional levels. Their role includes supporting these agencies in aligning with the health cluster and RMNCAH decisions to ensure the coordinated provision of reproductive health supplies during emergencies.
Job Requirement
Qualification/Experience:
- Should have a degree in a health-related field, preferably from a pharmacy faculty.
- Need at least three years of experience in managing and checking the quality of medical supplies.
- It would be helpful to have worked with healthcare projects in NGOs, both locally and internationally.
- Knowledge of using electronic systems for managing logistics is a plus.
- Should be able to visit different locations for work purposes.
- Should be comfortable using computer programs like Microsoft Office.
