About MMRCA: Background Information: The Medical Management and Research Courses Afghanistan (MMRCA) is a national, non-governmental, non-political, non-profit, and humanitarian organization, established under No. 1112 dated 14 February 2008 in the Ministry of Economy and under No. No. 781 dated 30 Aug 2022 has been registered in the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan and is the implementer of health projects, HIV, malaria, and TB in different provinces of the country. MMRCA has been implementing the HIV Project (Scaling up HIV interventions among Key Affected Populations in Afghanistan) in Balkh, Kundoz, and Badakhshan provinces. Therefore, MMRCA is looking to recruit a qualified Health Worker in Balkh province to provide the required prevention-related services for the Prison DIC in Balkh province. MMRCA invites and encourages eligible candidates to apply for the position of Health Worker for the HIV Project located at Prion DIC in Balkh Province.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Specific Responsibilities:
- Respect the internal MMRCA and MOPH rules and policies
- Preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual action plan for OST activities with facility coordinator according to performance indicators
- Promote an enabling environment for clients to provide test services at the OST center level
- Performing full time and night duty according to schedule
- Properly specimen collection, labeling, and transferring to related departments through proper channel
- Follow infection and prevention procedures and waste management
- Recording all provided nursing services throughout of OST center
- Coordination of all activities regarding OST with the facility coordinator
- Distribution of Methadone and other medicine according to doctor's prescription for the target client
- Participation in all related training and transferring to other staff
- Participation in all official meetings, workshops, and events for harm reduction
- Identifying risk and problem against the program and sharing it with the OST doctor or PC
- To keep full and contemporaneous clinical records and statistics.
- To provide medical primary care (distribution of prescript medicine, dressing, injections, bandages, vaccinations) for under MMT clients through the OST center
- To perform emergency first care if needed
- Follow stock management and stock card procedure
- Follow refrigerator procedure for Methadone Syrup Test Strips stock, and proper recording temperature figure
- Preparation Daily, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual progress reports
- Perform other related activities assigned by the line manager
Professional Competencies:
- Nursing School/ Bachelor
- One year of work experience in a related field
- Received Training regard to Harm Reduction, HIV/AIDs, Drug Addiction field, etc
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good Computer Skills.
- Good Knowledge of fluently in Dari/Pashto and English languages
