About HealthNet TPO: HealthNet TPO is a Netherlands based not for profit, non-governmental organization founded on the principle that access to affordable quality health care is a basic human right. HealthNet TPO works with interdisciplinary professionals to develop and implement innovative, culturally appropriate, evidence based public health interventions with a focus on: innovative development of health systems, mental health and psychosocial care, long and short term training of health workers, control of communicable diseases (including malaria), and health financing schemes. HealthNet TPO in Afghanistan aims to improve the health status of the people in Afghanistan by supporting the local communities and the Government of Afghanistan in the development of a sustainable health care system. HealthNet TPO is working in Afghanistan since 1994, implementing integrated health projects managed mainly by national staff and supported technically by expatriate staff from the headquarter office. HealthNet TPO Afghanistan is providing Primary Health Care, Mental Health and psychosocial services, fighting malaria and supporting Mother & Child Health Care in terms of providing training for Community Midwifes and to conduct operation research. Health Net TPO is currently implementing projects in 22 provinces and the major program it implements are Malaria Control program, SEHATMANDI projects, nutrition and Mental Health, Psychosocial program through a community system strengthening approach.
Job Description
- Support the field implementation of the Global Fund Regional Cross-border TB Catalytic Grant supported project, “TB/MDR-TB INTERVENTIONS AMONG AFGHAN REFUGEES, RETURNEES.
- Implement the agreed upon SOPs and follow the national TB guidelines during daily activities.
- Perform TB active case finding (ACF) through conducting TB screening among Afghan returnees and migrants with particular focus on areas of high return and cross-border migration, such as at border crossings points, in cross-border communities, and in settlements that migrant and returnee populations at greater risk of potential exposure to TB.
- Ensure the referral of all detected presumptive TB cases to the NTP provincial Focal Points and relevant diagnostic/treatment facilities and ensure the completion of the required laboratory examinations.
- Build strong cooperative relations with health facility and involved sides.
- Performed proper documentation of newly diagnosed TB cases for follow up; record TB patients’ full information, contacts, referrals, treatment, and follow up with NTP
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and collaborative relationships with clients, partners and health professionals.
- Coordinate with partners who provide services for returnees and migrants to integrate TB awareness raising within their activities to expand outreach.
- Prepare and submit weekly reports to the TB-RSSH project focal point on the progress of field activities and challenges encountered, as well as summary information on numbers screened, presumptive cases detected and referred, positive cases diagnosed, and the completion status of treatment.
- Insure collection of accurate data, interpretation of data and analysis of the collected data.
- Active participation in TB relevant training and meeting if any.
Perform any related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirement
- Graduated from a recognized Medical University and Health institute (MD/Nurse).
- Experience in TB and other performed screening activities.
- To be fluent in writing and speaking local languages.
- Ability to work long hours, often under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work in team or individually.
