Job Description
The overall objective of this assignment is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the selected Small Manual Dairy Processors (SMDPs) on improved dairy processing practices to enable them to produce quality dairy products such as drinking yogurt, cheese, and other by-products.
The Dairy Processing Specialist (STTA) is mainly responsible to develop comprehensive training material and conduct the training, along with:
Develop comprehensive training materials as well as an outline of training methodology and plan
Hygienic fresh milk processing practices for various dairy products.
Hygienic handling and supplying practices of surplus milk.
Quality fresh milk characteristics and testing methodology.
Practical work for the making of cheese and white drinking yogurt and butter through the manual churning machine. This will also involve showing videos of improved dairy processing techniques.
Effect of different factors and agents on milk spoilage.
Sources of microorganisms in fresh milk and dairy products.
Deliver a final presentation to the AVC-Livestock technical team on assignment achievements
Coordinate with AVC-Livestock M&E Teams on organizing the training sessions.
Provide a final report to AVC-Livestock COP or his assignee.
Job Requirement
Bachelor’s degree in veterinary, animal science, food technology, or other relevant areas.
Bachelor's degree with four (4) years of relevant experience
Proven practical experience and training in dairy products improved practices
Strong writing, communication, and training skills.
Work experience with international companies, organizations, and NGOs is preferred.
Fluent Pashto and Dari.
Proficiency in written English is required.
