About ORCD: Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD) is a Non-governmental, Non-political, Non-profitable and independent organization founded in 2010 by a group of community development and research specialist. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based on best practices and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing health, agriculture and community development projects in several provinces of the country.

Job Description

  • Provide technical inputs and leadership to the team’s ongoing and planned technical assistance to the projects related to issues/activities/investments focusing on DRM and climate smart agriculture in the targeted district of Charasiab and Dehsabz in Kabul province
  •  Preparing/reviewing the technical reports/studies action and activity plans feasibility studies proposed scope of works preliminary designs cost estimates bidding documents and providing technical inputs to the relevant departments
  •  Supporting and leading conceptualization of/supervision of physical as well as non-structural investments
  • Helping introduce innovative technical solutions and approaches such as green infrastructure solutions or nature-based solutions to the project.
  •  Providing support to the teams as needed in an event of a natural disaster affecting CSA- EEP for example through participation in disaster recovery planning.
  •  Conduct dialog session with the key stakeholders in the targeted communities.
  • Prepare venerability mapping in the targeted communities.
  • Conduct and Managed climate smart agriculture training need assessment.
  • Conduct and manage climate smart agriculture training to the targeted beneficiary.
  • Conduct awareness session in the community for capacity building and awareness of them on DRM and prevention planning.
  • Prepare DRM and climate smart agriculture activities reports and compile necessary case studies.
  • Establish CDCs shura and DRM committees of male and female in the communities.
  • Any other responsibilities delegating by line manager.
 

Job Requirement

  • The candidate must have degree in Agriculture and Water Resources Management or any relevant subject from a recognized university with good academic standing.
  •  Minimum 3years’ experience DRM and climate smart agriculture project
  •  Experience with development projects related to CSA is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of the stakeholders in the agricultural sector
  •  High level of demonstrated competency in developing and implementing effective strategies.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and local languages
  • Sufficient data analysis and report writing skills.
  • Strong organizational survey and oral presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team and intercultural environment with minimal supervision
