Job Description
The Water Supply Engineer will manage the water supply project (5 tube wells with a solar system in Balkh and 5 tubes in Jawzjan Province). He will have to travel to the targeted districts of the mentioned provinces. The solar pump system is set up by digging a borehole and installing solar panels, using light energy to pull safe water from deep below the earth’s surface.
He will be responsible to lead the implementation of the project of various components. He will also maintain a working relationship with the local communities and stakeholders and will work under the supervision of the project manager.
Job Requirement
- Lead on project mobilisation and outreach to targeted communities. Organise, promote and manage outreach events.
- Support detailed designs, calculations, specifications, bills of quantities, and drawings for the contract work packages of water supply projects.
- Provide water supply design, estimation, and BOQ.
- Supervise activities of the contractors on construction sites.
- produce an action plan and procurement process for the implementation
- Develop project work plans and ensure timely
- implementation of the project activities in line with work plans and activity schedules.
- Produce engineering studies and cost estimates for options analysis.
- Supervise and assure the quality of the work being implemented.
- Supervise the contractors to ensure that all works are performed in accordance with the plans, specifications, and agreement.
- Assist the contractor in resolving technical issues.
- Record measurements and tests in accordance with project quality control.
- Monitor construction activities for safe work practices.
- Review extra work or change order requests.
- Willing to travel and be on the site 3 – 4 weeks per month.
- Performed other duties as assigned.
