Job Description
This short-term assignment aims to transfer advanced knowledge, skills, and best practices in cow artificial insemination to AI technicians/VFUs to improve their AI service delivery.
AI trainer (STTA) is responsible to review AVC-Livestock training materials (presentation and handout), preparing himself for the training, and conducting the theory and practical training for AI technicians/VFUs pin the respective provinces. The trainers after the provision training will develop a comprehensive report including the progress of the activity, recommendations, and lessons learned.
Following are the AI trainer’s (STTA’s) main responsibilities:
Prepare training material, schedule, and the timeline for theoretical and practical training.
Provision of four days of theoretical training on the reproductive system, estrus cycle, insemination, pregnancy test, and reproductive system diseases in local languages (Dari) as per the language spoken by the trainees.
Provision of two days of practical training on the introduction of AI-improved equipment and techniques, pregnancy tests, and artificial insemination. Onsite, pregnancy test facilities will be arranged for practical work.
The trainer will use the animal organs during theoretical training to show the exact parts of the animal reproductive system.
The trainer shall train the trainees on the safe transportation, storage, and handling of liquid nitrogen containers and develop health and safety training modules for the safe handling of liquid nitrogen containers.
Prepare a comprehensive report including the progress of the activity, recommendations, and lessons learned.
Job Requirement
A university degree in DVM/MSc.
At least 5 years of practical work experience in the field of artificial insemination.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Fluency in Pashto and Dari.
Able to write reports and communicate via emails in English.
