Job Description
Counselor will conduct counsel sessions for children and their families at the MHTNTs center & at homes. They will conduct advocacy meeting /training for community leaders & stakeholder, and Health Shura in PCA coverage areas.
Job Requirement
- S Supervision from PSS Counsellors MHNTs.
- Carry out counselling activities according to the schedule.
- Give psychosocial counselling for clients and their families.
- To write down case notes in patient file.
- Seek actively good cooperation with a doctor and nurse concerning patient’s progress/condition.
- Give psycho education to clients and their families: to provide emotional support and accurate medical information regarding mental problems/illnesses to client and their families. Guide and support the client and his/her family in the rehabilitation process.
- Facilitate and lead support groups for clients and their families and record these activities accordingly (group for families with mentally retarded children and depression/anxiety group etc.).
- Support outreach workers to identify children and their families to be part of MHNTs centre
- Maintain daily counselling schedule with children/family/Health Shura.
- Provide counselling sessions with children's families on a monthly basis and maintain case records.
- Provide weekly group counselling sessions with MHNTs according to planned schedule
- Conduct advocacy meetings/training with families of MHNTs regarding school attendance.
- Follow up standard methods for helping children and their parents
- Conducting advocacy sessions on child protection and against child abuse.
- Maintain close cooperation with religious/police /stake holder leaders regarding community awareness of children's rights
- Conducting counselling sessions for staff of the MHNTs canter.
- Participate in all trainings
- Preparing monthly report to Project MHNT doctor.
- Any other duties assigned by Project Manager/Project Health Assistant
