General Objective: The primary objective of this project is to addressing the promotion of sustainable licit livelihoods, youth vocational and natural resource management; psychosocial, peace education, community–based agriculture and economic development programs. The program will work to strengthen the IDPs, Returnees, and host community at center Herat, and Badghis center throughout support of community stockholders GIROA related sectors in the project cycle.

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducting goat husbandry training, processing nutrition and disease treatment.
  • Take part for procuring the local goat breeds according to the DAIL advice.
  • Take part in distribution process of the goats to the selected beneficiaries with close coordination and cooperation of the DAIL/Livestock section.
  • Do regular follow-ups from the beneficiaries to ensure that goat growing and milk production process progressing well.
  • Provide regular consultation and advice to the goat husbandry component beneficiaries.
  • Examine goats to assess their health and diagnose problems.
  • Test and vaccinate against diseases.
  • Treat domestic disease of goats that affected with infections.
  • Advise for project beneficiaries about general care medical conditions and treatments.
  • Promoting preventative care by advocating and administering routine vaccinations and by educating clients on positive diet and lifestyle choices for goats.
  • Goat husbandry trainer is responsible to instruct and monitor beneficiaries work performance. 
  • Goat husbandry trainer should work closely with beneficiaries based on learner-centered approach and train them in very simple and collegian language.
  • Plan and manage goat husbandry training program in consultation with the Agriculture Expert.
  • Conduct field survey; assess training needs of the potential project beneficiaries.
  • Develop training manual for enhancing capacity of the goat husbandry beneficiaries.
  • Prepare Power-point presentations on required training issues.
  • Evaluate trainings and write course/workshop reports.
  • Carry out any other job-related responsibility as determined by the Agriculture Expert.

Job Requirement

Qualifications:

  • Graduated from faculty of agriculture/animal science/ faculty veterinary or institute of veterinary.
  • Having at least two years of experiences in the relevant section.
  • Having strong skills in facilitation and managing the training.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have strong knowledge from the community of Herat province.
  • Fluency in speaking Dari and Pashto languages.
