Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Main function: NOC Engineer will analyze problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response on the system to provide initial analysis for faults/alarms/degradation identification (1st level incident management), and communicate with concerns departments as well as with site technicians and track problems till resolution. Ensuring maximum possible service availability, and performance and monitoring all the network infrastructure to meet network KPI and SLA (running routine examination). In responding to incidents and customers, the NOC Engineer must carefully track and document all issues and resolutions in detail as per SOPs.
The candidate is required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends – for network changes, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule/shift-wise or simply the candidate needs to be available 24/7 throughout the year.
- PRTG interfaces/ports utilization alarm monitoring.
- MTX issues monitoring and escalation.
- Juniper Fiber ring monitoring.
- Arif Azim Arial fiber issues escalation and reporting
- Core switches, and router monitoring via U2020 and its escalation via email and WhatsApp
- I2000 for CBS alarm Monitoring
- OP manager for Cisco devices monitoring
- Managing NET Support/VNC services for video Wall.
- Shut and Unshut IP ports after IP BO team confirmation
- Corporate services checking with relevant customers like taking ARP, MAC table, P2P connectivity
- Checking all international links NAT Processes (Private and Public IPs)
- Checking status of Dynamic protocols and static routing
- Checking the VSI of interfaces in the router and taking required action/escalation accordingly
- Performing shift of traffic from one interface to another
- Supporting IP BO team in troubleshooting IP related issues
- Performing first-level troubleshooting as normal for IP-related issues (BB, ISPs, Corporate, switching, routing, and IP devices).
- Following IP domain issues with upstream providers (like AFTEL, TW1/Mobilink, TIC, Etisalat ISP with Etisalat and stakeholders and sharing/getting the required information/problem till the closure of the issue.
- Troubleshooting VPNS Services (Remote VPN and VPN Client)
- Monitoring CBS nodes via I2000 NMS.
- Ensures technical Escalations to Delivery of SLA criteria.
- Running of routines & health checks to determine network status.
- Monitoring and coordinating planned activities (CRs) with partner’s/CR implementers from start to end of the activity and ensuring that all services are normal
- Manage interconnect issues with other carriers
- Scheduling and publishing of Team/FM shift rotate.
- Notify other NOCs/Clients about the planned activities within the responsible network.
- Escalate complex (outages/issues) to Supervisors/Managers
- Preparing Weekly and Monthly fault reports & network activities/health updates.
- Strictly follow Front Office 1st Level Operations Process
- NOC Engineer must carefully track and document all issues.
- Communicate briefly in both oral and written communications.
- Proper shift handover plan for next shift engineer
Be a team player in helping and supporting other team members, and the company and perform other duties as assigned by the team lead and Manager.
Job Requirement
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Electronics, Electrical, and Telecommunication Engineering.
- Minimum experience of 3 years in related fields.
EXPERIENCES
- 3 years of telecommunications experience. Have a good communication skill.
