About Jhpiego: 1- Background of AFSOG: AFSOG was established in 2002 and revitalized in 2007. The association has the support of various development partners to take active part in the facilitation of the service provision for maternal and child health. The purpose was to take active part in thereduction of the high maternal and neonatal mortality in Afghanistan. The aim of AFSOG is to professionally support the growing number of Gyn/Obs in the country and to champion the profession through advocacy and education.
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities:
The following role and responsibilities will be under taken by the AFSOG advisor:
1- She/He should work very closely for 5 days in a week with AFSOG.
2- She/He should have consultative role and will be engaged in executive activities per need
3- Capacity Building of AFSOG members including board members.
4- Assistance in preparing and arranging AFSOG congresses and other national conferences.
5- Supporting the planning for AFSOG activities including AFSOG working committees work.
6- Supporting M&E activities at national level together with AFSOG president and board members.
7- Preparing and collecting the required information for national & international conferences and
workshops including FIGO.
8- Support AFSOG for coordination with other association in the regional countries.
9- Support for advocacy and orientation ofAFSOG at national level and regional level countries.
10- Provide technical support to AFSOG for all financial management issues.
11- Provide technical support for expansion of AFSOG offices at regional and gradually to provinces.
12- Any task assigned by AFSOG leadership.
3- Out Puts or deliverables:
Clear Operational plan for AFSOG and its initiation at national level
Accountable and transparent financial management system for AFSOG board and its members
by the end of each year
Job Requirement
Specific requirement:
Afghan national and know about Afghanistan Health system.
The AFSOG technical advisor should support the mission and vision of the AFSOG.
She/ He should have the commitment to work for achieving the strategic direction of the AFSOG.
Having background in Gyn/Obs clinical and managerial activities. Work very closely with AFSOG board
members.
Fluent in local languages.
Reporting Relationship:
She/he should be reporting directly to AFSOG president.
